Beauty Blender Pro Review

Retails for $26 (CAD)

This was the first Beauty Blender I bought, I loved that it was black and I loved the ”pro” part, and since foundation is known for staining I figured it would look better than a stained pink one.. However, It was ruined by a bad foundation (still don’t understand how, Still mourning the loss of it) and I repurchased a new one, but I went with the original so comparing it to the original, it’s very similar I’d say the Pro gave a more dewy even finish, it was a tiny bit more dense, not as spongy as the original. It was also slightly smaller, when both are wet the original is a tiny bit bigger. But comparable they’re both incredible and I wouldn’t be able to switch back to anything else.

Now, the pro never stained the original does already have staining and along with the original the colour seems to bleed and fade over time, the pro never did and I used it for slightly over 6 months (you’re suppose to change them more often but I had went two months without wearing makeup so I figured it was okay, oops).

I love beauty blender in general I’ve never had issues, It bounces the foundation flawlessly into your skin, and no streaks like with a regular foundation application everything is even and great.

I love how soft and spongy it is and how big it gets when wet, the pointed part is great for getting into those tiny creases for your eyes and nose etc when applying, I could never get it perfect with fingers or brushes previously.

Since I’ve used it I’ve been hooked and I haven’t used any other way to apply foundation since.

It can also be used for applying powder for baking and such but I haven’t gotten into that much yet.

You can buy the cleaner for it from the brand, but I just use dawn dish soap and it’s worked fine for me, gets it clean. smells nice etc. I seen a few times in the last few years of people finding mold in the center when they cut them and when my pro broke apart the center was normal colour so I assume my cleaning method is fine.

What it is : An edgeless, non-disposable, high-definition cosmetic sponge applicator made especially for professionals.

It’s non-disposable so it’s reusable though you’re suppose to change it every few months, I admit I’m guilty for not changing beauty tools as often as I should, but I mean unless it impacts performance or it’s in really bad shape It’s likely fine to continue use.

What it does:
Beautyblender Pro is the perfect application method for darker-toned products that would be difficult to rinse clean from a lighter colored applicator. Use with complexion products, long-wear makeup, and self-tanners for flawless results.

So basically any darker products, if your darker skinned and don’t like staining on the original, or would be using it for tanners etc I’d recommend the pro over the original.  But it would be more personal choice.

What else you need to know:
Beautyblender Pro features an open cell structure that fills with small amounts of water when wet. This allows the sponge to be “full” so that the makeup product sits on top of the sponge rather than being absorbed, allowing you to use less product every time. When wet, beautyblender doubles in size and becomes even softer, returning to its original size when it air dries. Handcrafted in the USA

So, when you dampen your beauty blender it fills, so it doesn’t hold or soak up your makeup as much as a regular makeup sponge or brush. It does get much larger when damp, and dries back down. It’s recommended to not dry it the container it came in, I always set mine back into the cover to dry and when fully dry put it back in. It is very soft but again the original is a tiny bit more soft, but I found the original absorbs a tiny bit more than the pro.

It’s a non latex foam, These tools were created to apply makeup easily by artist Ree Ann Silva. The innovative beauty blender sponge holds water, not product, evenly distributing and blending the perfect amount of cream, powder, or liquid formulas into skin without lines.

It’s rated 4.6/5 stars with 1542 reviews at this time on Sephora. I would rate it a solid 5/5 I couldn’t imagine applying foundation with anything besides my Beauty blenders now!
